Spring Conference Garage Sale

TEACHER GARAGE SALE:  Teachers – bring teaching items (books, posters, games…etc) that you no longer need and make a little money for you and CCFLT.

There is a $2.50 registration fee per teacher who wishes to sell items. For every item sold at the conference, $1 will be given back to CCFLT.  Attach one of the tickets  TeacherGarageSaleItemTags.pdf to each of your items and bring them to the table labeled “Teacher Garage Sale” in the Exhibits Hall.

Any items and money NOT picked up at the end of the conference will be considered a donation to the CCFLT.

KrashenKeynote Speaker: Dr. Stephen Krashen

Dr. Stephen Krashen is Emeritus Professor of Education at USC. He is best known for developing the first comprehensive theory of second language acquisition, introducing the concept of sheltered subject matter teaching, and as the co-inventor of the Natural Approach to foreign language teaching. He has also contributed to theory and application in the area of bilingual education and literacy. His recent papers can be found at http://www.sdkrashen.com.

Dr. Krashen was the 1977 Incline Bench Press champion of Venice Beach, California and holds a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. He hopes you will follow him on twitter (@skrashen) so he can achieve his goal of catching up to Justin Bieber.

He holds a PhD in Linguistics from UCLA, as well as an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters, awarded by Lewis and Clark College, Portland. He was elected a member of the Reading Hall of Fame in 2005.

block of suites has been secured at the Embassy Suites Loveland – Hotel, Spa & Conference Center for the Colorado Congress of Foreign Language Teachers 2017 Spring Conference. Please use this direct link, you will then be able to make your reservations within the group block and at the group rate – the group code is FLT. The group rate is $134.00 plus tax, per suite, for two people in a suite with either two queen beds and a queen sized sofa sleeper or for a suite with one king bed and a queen sized sofa sleeper. The Hotel will assess a $15.00 fee for the third and again for the fourth person in each suite. Please know that the Hotel will offer the group rates until midnight on Friday, January 27, 2017 or until the block is sold out, whichever happens first. Additionally, the above rates include a full hot breakfast and evening reception, both served daily! 

Please know that inventory has been allocated beginning Thursday, February 23, 2017, with departure on Sunday, February 26, 2017. If you would like to make your reservation to include arrival and departure dates before the 18th or after the 21st, you will be offered a higher rate, if the suite is available. Should this happen, please send Ann Kool, Sales Manger, at ann.kool@jqh.com to see if it is possible to extend that rate for all nights of your stay.
